When I posted the image of the finished product of these on my Facebook and Instagram, I got such an overwhelming response of recipe requests, that I came right to the computer to write up the post! I LOVE when people like what they see of my creations and I’m happy to oblige.
I always try and figure out something new to make with ground turkey. When I come home from work hungry, I lose all my creativity and opt for some easy tacos. Tonight, I took to Pinterest for inspiration and I found it! I had all the ingredients needed (there’s not too many) and I altered the recipe I found to make these low-FODMAP and gluten-free.
Low-FODMAP and Gluten-Free Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers
Get all your ingredients ready first: 1lb ground turkey, 2 cups defrosted frozen spinach, 1 cup of feta cheese, 1 egg and any spices you may fancy. I added some smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Next time, I might add cayenne pepper because I really think these patties would be great with a little kick too.
Put all ingredients in a bowl. If you’re going to be taking photos of said bowl, make sure it doesn’t give off trippy reflections like mine is doing 🙂 Mix everything together with your hands. It will look really not pretty…like this. Add some olive oil (or your choice of oil) to a pan and heat it up on medium heat. You don’t it to be too hot so that your patties sizzle right away because that means you’ll burn the outside before the inside ever gets cooked. Slow and steady wins the race. Once they’ve been cooking for about 5 minutes, you’ll notice the meat on the bottom get white (ready) and you can flip it over to the other side, cooking for another 5-7 minutes. That’s it! You’re done. You can put these patties on a (gluten-free) hamburger bun, eat them as patties with your favorite side, or just stare at how beautiful they are. It’s really up to you! Enjoy and share!
